Day 13. Akshay's Guitar..(Part-2)

Next morning I started searching..”Nataka Dokana” from numerous small shops in Jharsuguda. I was looking each and every shop hoardings..Suddenly my eyes got struck to a hoarding having Guitar combined with a Tabla, clearly written “Nataka Dokana”. Letters of the hoarding were dancing asynchronously. Every instrument’s drawing was there, enough to make a brass band. I kept my bike in the roadside and went to that shop. The shopkeeper was doing a slow love to his odiya Newspaper. When I called him, he was very delighted to see me. His lips expanded to its extremities…

I asked:”I want a guitar..”

He replied:”Local or branded??”.I got confused. I thought whether I have asked for a Guitar or Rum bottle??

I said:”Show me the cheapest one.”

He replied:”Wait..am getting it from my workshop.” My confusion was as its peak by listening the word ‘Workshop’. The shopkeeper ordered his boy to bring a 1350 from his workshop.

I asked:”What is 1350??Is it the model name??”

He replied:”No No…it’s the price. Here all model are same . All guitars are made here.” My doubt got converted into reality. Before I knew LOCAL made means somewhere in India but not the place I am standing and searching the product. I reminded the innocent face of Akshay. Shopkeeper shown me different colours with design, as if showing T-shirts to me. Each piece of guitar was accompanied by some exciting prologue by the shopkeeper. All the guitars were out of tune and I think can’t be tuned further…The shopkeeper made a concession of Rs150 but I came back. I called Akshay on his cell phone.

I said:”I knew why your guitar is Rs 1200 !!”

Akshay replied:”Why……”

I said:”They are making these guitars here. These are ultra-local.”

Akshay replied:”Really??I don’t know about these things..”

I said:”Enjoy..If possible tune it for practice only, but never play it in public otherwise you have to pay for it.” After these words Akshay laughed and disconnected his call…

Friends…”Enthusiasm” is very harmful if you want to do things right now. Take your time and decide about your passion. If you really want to buy some musical instruments or any other things that you don’t know then kindly take one guy who knows about the instruments. Don’t throw you hard earned money to such types of shopkeepers. But if you need the cheapest one then take a piece of wood and make one guitar. Everything will cost around Rs300. But I am not sure about its performance.

Have a nice day.

Day 12. Akshay's Guitar..(Part-1)

“Are in your room?” I asked Akshay with great ebullience, in my cell phone. “Yes..am waiting for you” Akshay answered with utmost avidity. I got ready within a couple of minutes to see the Guitar of Akshaya. I had seen many guitars but never touched one before. I was very keen to play his Guitar. I was so excited that I started playing guitar chords of “kaho na kaho-Murder” using my palate, teeth and tongue. After a mini bike race of 1 Km, I reached his home within 4 minutes. Pressed his calling bell. Akshay with his skeletal body and underslung Bermuda opened his door. “How fast you came??”Akshay added these words with a smile on his face. ”I can do anything for playing guitar”, I replied audaciously.

I asked: ”Where is it??”

Akshay replied: “Wait..Wait...am bringing.” My enthusiasm was at its peak.

Askhay bought his blue Guitar bag with some unheeded spider webs on it. I opened the zip of that bag with one go. That maroon colored guitar as well as Akshay’s forehead both glazed with the overhead 23 watts Bajaj CFL.

I said:”Wow..its looking great. Where you bought it from??”

Aksahay replied :”Na...Nataka dokana”(Nataka dokana-is a Odiya term in which ‘Nataka’ means drama and ‘dokana’ means shop.) Literally,Drama shop.

I said: ”But where is it??” Later I discovered it from Jharsuguda city. A multi-variety music store with collection of some awesome non-branded monotonous guitars.

Akshaya replied: ”Here....at Jharsuguda only.”

I said: ”Please play it…”

Akshaya replied:”I don’t know ABC of music.”

I said:”I know ABC only but not beyond that..”

Akshaya replied: ”I am planning to learn Guitar”. While he was narrating his intensity of guitar learning, I snatched the Guitar from his hand and stared playing. I had never heard such a cacophonous tune before. All strings produced same sound. “How is it possible??” I asked myself like a confounded fool.

I said: ”What is its price???”

Akshaya replied:”Rs 1200 only.” Then I tried to search the company logo within the guitar but nothing was found except polished wood. “What more you can expect in 1200??” I explained myself. Akshaya was eagerly waiting for my valuable feedback on his guitar.

Akshay asked: ”So…How is it???”

I replied: “Seems ok…but needs to be tuned.” By playing that guitar all my expectations melted down. How can any company make such type of guitars?? I also planned to go to that shop next day and returned back to my home……J

Day 11. For you..my dear..

I saw my mobile watch. My old and antediluvian Motorola was saying 9:00am. I knew the exact time was 8:50am but still assumed the time to be 9:00am. I kept my bicycle at cycle stand and my eyes were eagerly searching her. I was in a red shirt and White jeans. Red was her favourite, that’s why I wore that one on that special day. I was moving hither and thither to meet her. My class time was 9:15am. I had to go my futile class, so I got angry. I was standing in our college canteen and finally made my mind to go & listen the translation of zoology in Odiya version. Of course….my honours class. Suddenly I saw some reflections from numerous mirrors from the dress of a girl. Oh….it was my sweet heart in her black bicycle wearing a beautiful mirrored dress along with whole 1st year batch girls. I was saved from my honours classes. I thought it was better to listen my sweet heart than the direct Odiya translation of comparative anatomy of heart. I paused…She came and checked my cell, whether I have dialed or sent message to any other number or not. After a complete contemplative mobile audit of 3 and half minutes she kept it close to my heart. Yes.. in my shirt pocket. We went to the place where we used to go always. Backside of the Economics department. We sat there every day(minus sunday). Even if I learnt some core Economics terms within in a year by listening to those unbearable roaring of that Economics lecturer.
That day was very special for me because our juniors had arranged a fare well party on that afternoon.

I asked her:-“Will you go to the party??”

She replied:-“No..I don’t want to give farewell to you.”

We started gossiping. Skipped our classes. At that time our zoology department peon(Nilu bhai..) passed by our side. He glared at us. He was just looking like a human fossil. His crooked smile reminded me the protagonist of a horror show in Zee TV that I used to see in my school days. In the mean time we were able to get a glimpse of his red teeth which vanished within less than half second. My girlfriend was scared.

I asked her :-“You are scared of Him or the incident??”

She replied :-“Nilu bhai will say everything to our HOD that we are not going to class and spending time here.”

I said :-“Nothing will happen…Let’s see..”

My sweetheart was very sad as that was my last day in our college. She was very emotional and me too.

She said :”What we will do? How I will meet you after your final exams??”

I said: “We will talk in phone.”

She said:”No..I can’t. I don’t have a mobile and talking in our land phone is next to impossible.”

I said:”Then what shall we do?”

She said:”You take me with you.I won’t want to stay alone. I can’t come here alone. Your memories will haunt me.” She broke out in tears.

I said:”Nothing will happen dear..Keep faith in god.”

She said :”Whatever money you will make, I will adjust.”

I said: “I can get a job in any domestic call Centre. I can make Rs 3000 maximum. ”

She said: ”Wow..its more than enough. I can manage.”

I said: ”I think house rent of a worst quality house will cost 1200-1500 bucks. How can we manage??”

She said:”In rest amount we can have our food. I can manage. We will cook food so it will cost less.” She did some mathematics in her left hand .She was very good at mathematics. She scored 150 out of150 in mathematics in her board exams.

I said: ”So when we will go? Will you come with me??”

She said:” I can do everything for you dear. As far as family is concerned you are my everything. I don’t need any one. Please never leave me alone otherwise I will die.” My eyes were full of tears and on the mean time she had inscribed ‘Jyoti Neeladri forever..’ in that pink wall.

I said: “If your love is with me then I can also do everything for you.”

It was around 3:15 pm at that time and our college time was over. We were ready to go. Her friends returned from farewell party. She went with her bicycle and became small and small…and small… from my sight and finally vanished.....:)J

Everyone says in a successful love story lovers never meet at the end but according to me Success will never kiss your feet if your love is not with you and a successful love story never ends. Through this post…I would like to thank my wife for being with me each and every time and for giving me support during my struggle period. I love you Jyoti and will never let you alone till the end of my life.

(My blog started on 11/11/11 at 11:11am and fortunately today is my 11th day of posting. So I dedicate this post to my wife JYOTI.)
